Programs of Study
Overbrook Academy offers an academically rigorous program of study to its students. We look to meet the individual learning needs of each of our students as they meet the challenge to complete a year of study in English.
Students may choose one of the following programs of study
Annual Program
The Annual Program runs from September to early June and is divided into four quarterly ranking periods. Each student in the Annual Program has an Individual Learning Plan, that meets the specific needs of each student. Students are administered two semester examinations. Students take the TOEFL Junior exam twice during this time. Students also participate in quarterly standardized testing with Renaissance Star as a means of monitoring student progress. Completion of a portfolio is required of all annual students. The majority of Overbrook students attend the Annual Program.
Autumn Program
The Autumn Program runs from September to mid-December. Students will complete two quarters (one semester) of coursework. Students are administered one semester examination and they take the TOEFL Junior Exam once. They participate in two standardized tests with Renaissance Star for the purposes of monitoring academic progress.
Spring Program
The Spring Program runs from early January to early June. Students complete two quarters (one semester) of coursework. Students are administered one semester examination and they take the TOEFL Junior Exam once. They participate in two standardized tests with Renaissance Star for the purposes of monitoring academic progress.
